Monograph Contest acknowledges the academic contribution of the university community

Viernes 11 de julio de 2025

With the purpose of highlighting faculty production and promoting the publication of work of free nature as faculty material oriented towards learning, our Central Headquarters held an awards ceremony for the 2024 Academic Monograph Publication Contest, an initiative organized by the Library System and the Academic Vice-Rectory.

“These monographs and works contribute to life-long training by offering resources that can be used by undergraduate and graduate students, as well as by professionals in constant search for updating”, Claudia Mejías, Academic Vicerector mentioned at the event. She also highlighted the interdisciplinarity promoted in the contest by allowing collaboration between authors of the various academic units of our university.

For its part, the Library System director, Sandra Navarrete, mentioned that “visibility has been given and more than 100 titles have been published. These works have covered a great variety of disciplines and have acknowledged an important number of teachers”. She also emphasized the new design of the award given to the winning authors, “a rising star, such as thought seeks height, just like knowledge when shared”.

Awarded scholars are Anna Braghini (School or Architecture and Design), Raúl Burgos (History Institute, co-authors Alfred Hinrichsen and José Manuel Castro), Francisco Martínez (School of Civil Engineering), Fernando Rodríguez (School of Physical Education) and Carlos Salinas (School of Law).

Plenary

During the plenary session, the authors had the opportunity to share with the audience how their monographs contribute to teaching, researching and reflection on their respective disciplines, along with acknowledging those better evaluated, who will have the opportunity to publish with PUCV Editions.

Finally, the terms and conditions of the 2025 Academic Monograph Publication Contest can be reviewed HERE. The call will be open until Tuesday, August 19 th and is directed to emeritus, tenured, affiliated, adjunct, assistant, and permanent non-hierarchical professors.
