Our university made available to the community 31 online courses free of cost through the PUCV Open program, an initiative that includes content in various areas of knowledge under the MOOC modality (Massive Open Online Courses).
The programs offered by Open PUCV to the community are designed so that any person, from any place, can develop skills and knowledge in a flexible way and without tuition costs. The new version of the program includes courses created to address multiple knowledge areas, with contents that combine pertinence, quality and accessibility.
Carolina Quinteros, director of Continuing Education mentioned that “our department has promoted Open PUCV as a platform that goes beyond borders, bringing knowledge and opportunities of quality learning to everyone, regardless of their location”.
Quinteros added that “this sustained growth we’ve had reflects not only the commitment of the PUCV with open and inclusive education, but also how it projects itself as a national and international example in the democratization of access to knowledge. Each new course and each person that joins this community brings us closer to a future where lifelong learning is an effective right and not a privilege”.
The areas covered by the 31 free courses are Arts, Literature and Humanities; Law and Public Management; Social Sciences and Education; Engineering, Technology and Applied Science; Business, Leadership and Innovation and Sustainability and Natural Resources.
Each course has the academic backup the formative quality that is characteristic of the PUCV, ensuring a learning experience that is oriented towards current challenges.
