Tradition and quality

With over one hundred and twenty years of existence, numerous generations of great lawyers, judges, diplomats, jurists, politicians and academics have studied at the School of Law of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.

This century old tradition, its known prestige, and its academic quality situate it as one of the most important teaching and research law centres in the country and the continent. This guarantees graduates success in practising the profession within the different possibilities that the legal field offers.

Throughout more than 120 years, over a thousand lawyers have been trained in this School of Law. They currently stand out in the highest and most diverse jobs, always preceded by a high reputation and professional prestige, which is the seal and the identity of PUCV School of Law graduates. Our School’s quality has been permanently confirmed by different indicators and rankings. QS World University Raking for Law 2016, a British study that ranks the best Universities in the world to study law, recently placed PUCV’s Law Faculty within the best 150 Faculties in the world. According to QS 2017 and Americaeconomia 2017, PUCV Law is ranked among the top 3 Law Schools in Chile.
