Welcome Message

Dear colleagues,

Allow me to welcome everyone to the website of the LLRN4 Valparaíso Conference. Valparaiso, Chile and its people are excited to be the host of the 4th Conference of the Labor Law Research Network.

This network of researchers that is the LLRN was born in 2011, and since then one of its chief objectives has been to hold a biennial conference that brings together that part of the academic world dedicated to labour law and its study in a non-hierarchical and collegial environment.

The first three LLRN conferences were held in Barcelona (2013), Amsterdam (2015) and Toronto (2017). This fourth conference will be held in Valparaíso (Chile) in June 2019. As with the previous conferences, we hope to receive over 300 academics and researchers from across all the world's continents. Although this is not the first time the LLRN conference has been held in a non-English speaking country, it will be the first time that it will take place in the southern hemisphere, helping to meet the challenge of growing the network across the globe.

The Latin American region has a long tradition of labour law studies and the realization of this conference will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening that tradition. Current events that affect the phenomenon of work are increasingly global, and the exchange of knowledge and experience between researchers from different regions and continents is undoubtedly an important event.

For the school and law faculty of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, it is a great honor to be able to contribute to the meeting of labor law researchers from all over the world. It is an opportunity for mutual enrichment that is extremely relevant for the development of the discipline.

The conference will be conducted entirely in English and on this site you will be able to find all the necessary information both for your arrival and for the sending of your work, as well as the program once it is finished.

For my part, I hope to see you all in Valparaiso to not only share in the research that will be presented, but also the life of the beautiful city that will host the conference and the activities that will be organized.
