The PUCV and the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), recently entered into an Alliance, that expresses the mutual interest in developing action of academic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.
The document was signed by the rector of the PUCV, Nelson Vásquez and the rector of UNICAMP, Paulo Cesar Montagner.
Both institutions expressed their intention to collaborate on activities that could include faculty exchange, researchers, and students; joint teaching and research projects; development of academic events; collaborative publications; and initiatives for innovation and technology transfer.
Founded in 1962, UNICAMP was conceived as a research center, unlike other top-tier Brazilian universities, which are generally created by consolidating pre-existing schools and institutes. Its research focus is reflected in the fact that almost half of its students are graduate students—the highest proportion among all major Brazilian universities—who are enrolled in the institution's more than 150 graduate programs.
Internationalization for integration into a global society is one of the main guidelines of the 2023-2029 PUCV Institutional Development Plan, which proposes to continue expanding this area through education and research. In addition, it establishes the following objectives: strengthening the development of networks and consolidating the institution's position with prestigious foreign universities.
For the PUCV this milestone strengthens our international focus and opens up new opportunities for advanced research in partnership with a leading university in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
