The Interdisciplinary Energy Center (CIE) belongs to the Pontifica Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. It has experience in the area of teaching, efficient use of energy, audits, management and administration of energy, waste reduction / pollution prevention and industrial productivity, training, consulting, expertise, among other activities.

NBC emerges as a strategy to generate new business models and increase the competitiveness of Chilean companies, in accordance with the strategic priorities of the regions in which they are located. Consequently, NBC generates an installed capacity in the Valparaíso Region that supports, raises and develops innovative projects and state-of-the-art technologies for the development of the country.

Valparaíso Makerspace

Makerspace Valparaíso consists of a space where collaborative work is encouraged by virtue of ideas. The idea of creating this project is born under the principle of the worldwide maker movement, where people from different areas of knowledge, both academic and experiential, are able to meet and work on an idea in common and enhance it.

Laboratory of Tests of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (LEPUCV)

The Testing Laboratory of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso was founded in the city of Valparaíso at the end of the 70s, as a project of the School of Civil Construction of this same university. The Laboratory has provided services mainly in the areas of concrete, soil mechanics and asphalt, as well as important research and projects of significant national importance.

Center for Studies and Legislative Assistance (CEAL)

The Center for Studies and Legislative Assistance -CEAL- was created by virtue of an agreement between the Pontifica Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and the State University of New York, on August 16, 1989. Its origin is closely related to the need to support the reopening of the National Congress of Chile in Valparaíso. The mission of CEAL is to carry out studies and research, training, improvement and advice in the field of management and public policies.

Regional Center for Food and Health Studies (CREAS)

The Regional Center for Studies in Food and Health, CREAS, is the center for research, science and technology in Chile that develops R + D + i relating food issues and their effects on health. It is co-financed by the National Commission of Science and Technology (CONICYT) and the Regional Government of the Valparaíso Region, the national territory where its pilot plant is located.

Fraunhofer Chile

The Fraunhofer Chile Research Foundation was established to promote Chilean-German cooperation in Applied Research through the establishment and execution of Research Centers and similar entities, in collaboration with Chilean and German organizations, and other institutions related to research; the promotion of work, starting from scientific discoveries to practical application, with the purpose of allowing industrial development through applied research; the impulse to transfer knowledge, know-how and results of research to local industries; and the promotion of training, development of human capital and the exchange of scientists and technical personnel between Chilean and German research entities.

Inria Chile is a research and development center of French origin specialized in ICTs, computer science, automation and applied mathematics. It is part of Corfo's program "Centers of Excellence" that seeks to turn Chile into a pole of innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. Inria Chile is considered as a reference in matters of information technology in the region. Inria Chile has been operating in Chile since 2012 as a non-profit foundation, funded by Corfo and Inria ("National Institute of Computer and Automation Research"), a French public institution dedicated to the Research and Development of digital technologies of the future from computer science and applied mathematics.

PUCV Mining Center

In November 2013, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso was awarded the PMI "Development of the competitiveness of the regional mining industry through the articulation of University, Business, Government, Community", which, among its actions, considers the creation of a Mining Center.

It is a 3-year project that consists of an important injection of resources from the Ministry of Education plus contributions from the university, with the aim of developing lines of action aimed at consolidating and improving the work of the large, medium and small regional mining industry.
